With two penalties converted by Sébastien Salles-Lamonge and a goal from David Rodríguez, the Potosinos took all three points despite a late reaction from the home side.

Our take
In our view, the result exposes the finishing problems that Pumas UNAM have carried throughout this tournament: dominating possession, creating more chances and vastly outdoing their rival in corners meant nothing against San Luis' ruthlessness from the penalty spot. Two penalties calmly converted by Salles-Lamonge outweighed all of the university side's territorial dominance.
For Atlético de San Luis, the away win has merit, though it also reveals a certain defensive fragility that cost them two goals conceded, including one in stoppage time. With both teams level on points and fighting to climb out of the bottom half of the table, this result doesn't fully resolve their pressing needs, but it at least offers the Potosinos a morale boost heading into the rest of the campaign.
